Comfort Room?

Good day Folks! In this article I would like to express my own opinion regarding the C.R.’s here in our Institute. From the word comfort alone, it means convenience and security, what a pleasant word! But it seems opposite to the real scenario. Everyday as I pass-by our C.R.’s , I always see Manong Diasen, our Institute worker cleaning and flushing all the toilet bowls while humming his favorite song. The tiles are scrubbed and mopped and it feels so refreshing to see. But this scene is just a thing at the start. When we come out from our rooms after our first subject, and proceed to our daily routine- to retouch in the C.R, it is always disappointing to anyone who, even at a 5-meter distance from the C.R., smells stingy and unpleasant odor will make you feel nauseous. The white tiles then become like a muddy and swampy place because of the dirty markings of shoes and slippers and the bowls are left unflushed.

You know what? The fault is on us students who misuse it. Manong Diasen’s eagerness to maintain the C.R.’s cleanliness is worthless without our cooperation. It reflects on us and in out Institute as well. It is a small thing but the impact is big.

I hope that this will serve as an eye-opener not only for Manong Diasen who has the obligation to clean and maintain the C.R. but it’s everyone’s responsibility, we use it so we have the responsibility to clean it. What about if after we urinate or “pooh”, flush the bowl and rinse the floor. If everyone will do this, I am sure, no more stingy odor will disgust us and of course everybody will benefit from it and now is the right time for a change. We can do it, let us think that our Institute is a home away from home. Be a leader, if you can take a lead why follow?
